What I've learned about a great birthday
In 14 years, the thing every host tells me is the same: an intimate private space beats a noisy bar every time. Everyone can hear the toast, the room feels like yours, and the photos come out warm and personal.
Across hundreds of milestone birthdays, the ones that land best keep the food simple and put the spend where it's remembered — the cake, the playlist, and one or two details. And in my experience, adding a hands-on activity (a lamp-making, pottery, or floral workshop) turns a good party into the one people still talk about.
