How to Host a Micro-Wedding in a Williamsburg Loft

A micro-wedding isn't a smaller version of a big wedding — it's a different thing entirely, and that's the secret to making it feel special. With up to 50 guests in an intimate Williamsburg space, you can do things a 200-person ballroom simply can't. Here's how I help couples make the most of it.

The layout that works best for an intimate ceremony

In a loft space, the magic is in transformation: the same room can hold your ceremony, then shift into dinner and dancing while guests sip something in the backyard. I've found the smoothest version keeps the ceremony simple and forward-facing, then uses our existing tables and lighting for a warm, dinner-party feel afterward.

The actual ceremony-to-reception flip takes about 15 to 20 minutes!

Why intimate means you can splurge where it counts

With fewer guests, the per-person math changes in your favor. Couples who'd never afford a plated dinner for 150 can do something genuinely beautiful for 40. Because we're a bring-your-own space with setup and styling already handled, you put your budget into the things your guests will actually feel — the food, the flowers, the moment.

The Williamsburg advantage

Our location, steps from the L train and surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and boutique hotels, makes the whole weekend easier for out-of-town guests. I've watched couples turn a micro-wedding into a two-day Brooklyn experience without anyone needing a car.

Because we're steps from the L train, I usually point out-of-town couples toward The Penny Hotel for guests, Hole in The Wall for the morning after, and My Moon for a rehearsal-style dinner the night before — all walkable, no car needed.

Cultural celebrations are welcome here

I built this space to be inclusive and respectful of all people and ways of celebrating — we've hosted everything from micro-weddings to Nikah ceremonies. If your celebration has specific traditions, tell me; I'll help the space hold them properly.
