Engagement Party Venue in Brooklyn: Cost & Ideas

Engagement season runs from Thanksgiving through Valentine's Day — nearly half of all proposals happen in that window — which means right now is when newly engaged couples (and their best friends and moms) start searching for a place to celebrate. If that's you: congratulations. Here's how to plan an engagement party in Brooklyn that feels like the two of you, without hotel-ballroom pricing or restaurant-buyout stiffness.

How much does an engagement party venue cost in Brooklyn?

At Bat Haus, a five-hour private rental starts at $1,350 and includes the full venue for up to 50 guests — tables, chairs, a sound system, string lighting, greenery, a private backyard, setup and cleanup, and an on-site host. Bat Haus is an event venue at 459 Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and we've hosted celebrations of every tradition here since 2012.

Two styled tiers are available if you'd like the room dressed for you: the Styled package from $1,650 adds in-house bud vase florals throughout the space, and Styled + Suite from $2,100 adds enhanced florals and a private suite — a lovely touch for the couple to arrive from, or for quiet moments during the party.

Can we bring our own food and alcohol?

Yes — and this is where an independent venue changes the math. Bat Haus is bring-your-own everything: your favorite caterer, a spread from the Italian place where you had your first date, trays from your aunt's kitchen. There's no corkage fee and no catering markup, so the champagne toast costs what the champagne costs. A kitchenette is available for staging, and our host keeps things flowing so your people can just enjoy the party.

What do you actually do at an engagement party?

The best engagement parties give guests one shared moment beyond mingling. A few ideas our couples love:

A flower bar. Our build-your-own bouquet bar, from $350, sets a styled spread of seasonal stems where guests craft small bouquets to take home — it doubles as decor, an activity, and the favor. It's one of the most-requested add-ons at Bat Haus, and it photographs beautifully next to a ring.

A toast hour. Use the sound system for a short round of toasts — parents, the friend who introduced you, the story of the proposal — then let the playlist take over.

A memory table. Photos of the couple, a guest book, a "advice for the engaged" card box. Simple, and it gives the party a center of gravity.

When should we book an engagement party venue?

Four to eight weeks ahead is comfortable; sooner if you want a Saturday. Couples who get engaged over the holidays tend to celebrate in January and February, and those weekend slots overlap with baby showers, birthdays, and bridal showers, so the calendar tightens quickly. If you were proposed to last weekend and the group chat is already asking about a party — that's your sign.

And when the engagement party is done, you might not want to leave: Bat Haus also hosts bridal showers and intimate micro-weddings for up to 50, so some couples end up celebrating every chapter here.

FAQs

How many guests can Bat Haus hold for an engagement party?

Is the space private?
Yes, every event is a full private rental — the venue is yours for the entire booking.
